Beernem three editions long Dorp van de Ronde

Road   19/09/2022

Beernem can call itself Dorp van de Ronde in 2023, 2025 and 2027. Flanders’ Finest will be visiting Oedelem, Oostveld, Beernem and Sint-Joris on 2 April 2023. A day earlier, cycling tourists will also be making a passage through the municipality during We Ride Flanders.

“Sunday 2 April 2023 will not only be a great day for cycling enthusiasts, but the passage of the Tour is also a unique experience for Beernem,” says Jos Sypré, mayor of Beernem. “The Tour passes through Oedelem, Oostveld, Beernem and Sint-Joris. Flanders’ Finest brings a large number of people together, so I expect a popular festival in several places.”

Course

The riders come from Bruges towards Oedelem and ride along Bruggestraat and Knesselarestraat. At the junction of Den Hoorn, the riders turn right to reach Beernem via Schipperstraat and Hoornstraat. There the peloton follows Parkstraat before turning left into Sint-Andreaslaan. Finally the route proceeds towards Knesselare via Sint-Jorisstraat.

We Ride Flanders

On Saturday 1 April, a day before the Tour of Flanders, the entire course will be opened to cycling fans during We Ride Flanders.
