Leading textile service provider Mewa extends its agreement with Flanders Classics and is also proud to announce its support of the six international cycling races in Belgium over the coming two years.
After a successful opening season as sponsor of the renowned Flanders Classics cycling series, the textile management company is extending its contract with the organiser for another two years. Mewa therefore also becomes the official main sponsor of these international cycling races in 2023 and 2024.
The continuation of this commitment allows the “Textilsharing” theme - and above all its sustainable aspect - to take centre stage in the communication linked to this partnership, via online and offline channels alike.
“We are delighted to be able to flank the Flanders Classics series for the coming two years and to match the success of the first year. The live events and the community that attended have demonstrated a great similarity with our own corporate values. In almost no other sport is the sustainability aspect as pronounced as it is in cycling. We recognise our own policy lines in this regard and believe that Flanders Classics and Mewa are a perfect fit,” emphasises Julien Vansantvoort, Administrative Director of Mewa Belgium.
Mewa will be present with the Mewa Cube during selected races and will also introduce itself to the visitors through numerous other activities. The focus is mainly on the Tour of Flanders, which takes place on 2 April 2023 and, like last year, finishes in Oudenaarde - an absolute cycling highlight for all professional teams and cycling fans.
Steffen Geier, Head of Marketing & Communication at Mewa: “Mewa’s aim is to expand our brand recognition further in the Benelux and other parts of Europe. With Flanders Classics, we have certainly found the right platform on which to present the Mewa brand credibly to our target group.”
Tomas Van Den Spiegel, CEO of Flanders Classics: “This contract extension is testament to the fact that Mewa and Flanders Classics are proud partners. After a first season with Mewa as one of our major sponsors, we are naturally delighted to announce the continuation of this partnership for 2023 and 2024. We look forward to coming together once again in the spring of 2023 to write the next chapter of a great story that started last season.”
Julien Ternisien, Infront Senior Vice President Summer Sports said: “We were delighted to have facilitated the first season of collaboration between Mewa and Flanders Classics and it was clearly fruitful, allowing the brand to access a broad and engaged cycling audience. We’re delighted to have secured the prolongation of this agreement with our partner and we look forward to adding more value to one of cycling’s most famous properties in the future.”
What counts for Mewa in this commitment is that it is not just about external communication, but that all Mewa employees can also enjoy this partnership. A highlight in the series of incentives in 2023 is certainly “We Ride Flanders”, a cycling festival in which an impressive peloton of passionate employees will participate.
The Flanders Classics cycling series kicks off with the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on 25 February 2023 in Ghent, which signals the opening of the professional cycling season and in which all the men’s and women’s UCI WorldTeams will be competing. Mewa is already looking forward to seeing the many enthusiastic spectators at this and all other races.
