From Friday 17 July to Sunday 19 July, Tongeren-Borgloon was the setting for Ronde van Limburg Youth. No fewer than ten youth categories gave their all throughout the event.

Throughout the weekend, tomorrow’s cycling talents had the opportunity to showcase their abilities in the setting of Ronde van Limburg. The highlight was the three-day U17 Men’s race, which got underway on Friday 17 July with a prologue in Wellen. Ward Maillard proved to be the fastest against the clock and earned the honour of wearing the first pink leader’s jersey.

The double for Lotta Huybrechts

Saturday, 18 July, began with the races for the Women U17 and U19. Victory went to Lotta Huybrechts (Crabbé-Dstny) and American rider Sofia Tripcevich respectively. In Kerniel, Huybrechts not only won the final round of the U17 Women’s Topcompetition, but also secured the overall title. Crabbé-Dstny also celebrated success in the boys’ race on Saturday, as provincial champion Jelle Vanhove claimed victory on the Kernielberg in the second stage of the Men's U17 event.

Alexander Dardenne claims overall victory

The final day, Sunday 19 July, was dedicated to the youngest age categories, with races for the Minims (U9–U12) and Aspirants (U13–U15). The Men U17 brought the weekend to a close with their third stage from Heks to Kerniel, featuring passages over the cobbled sections of Manshoven and Op de Kriezel. Once again, it was Crabbé-Dstny that celebrated victory, as Lars Villers attacked late to take the win. The overall victory went to Alexander Dardenne.
