This was Flanders Gravel 2022: four events and segments with time trials

Gravel  29/10/2022

In 2022, participants explored unique, unpaved roads up and down Belgium, with the fun festival ambience at the start and finish sites enhancing their cycling experience. Not one, but four times this past year. With the added bonus of a competitive element during Flanders Gravel Koppenberg.

Flanders Gravel was created in 2021, with an event on and around the infamous Koppenberg. After the success of the first edition, the gravel calendar was expanded to four events. In 2022, the gravel season kicked off near the IJzertoren in Diksmuide, followed by the multi-day gravel classic on Koppenberg and the first edition of Flanders Gravel Limburg in Bilzen. But that’s not all, because the organisers added another gravel weekend in the Ardennes to this line-up, with Durbuy Gravel.

Besides these four events, Flanders Gravel also added a trial segment in Oudenaarde. Those who participated in Flanders Gravel Koppenberg got to explore the most iconic Tour of Flanders climbs off-road, but also had an opportunity to challenge themselves in a time trial on certain segments of the course.
