KSV Waregem Vooruit and the City of Roeselare have extended their successful partnership in the context of Dwars door Vlaanderen. This means that Roeselare will remain the starting point of the spring classic for Men Elite for the next six editions (2026–2031).

"We are particularly pleased to continue our collaboration with the City of Roeselare," says Pavel Desmet, chairman of KSV Waregem Vooruit. "The past years have gone flawlessly. Thanks to the cycling atmosphere you feel everywhere in Roeselare, we will once again have a wonderful starting location for the coming years, right next to KOERS. Museum of Cycle Racing. That is a tremendous added value for us. We feel the trust of the city and want to continue giving our best in the years to come."

Since 2007, Roeselare has been the fixed starting point of Dwars door Vlaanderen Men Elite. With this extension, the race will be flagged off from the Rodenbach city for the twentieth time in 2027. The decision to continue the collaboration is clearly one of continuity.

For Mayor Kris Declercq, the extension is a logical step: "Roeselare breathes cycling, and we are proud to show that to the world. Dwars door Vlaanderen generates international media attention. As the starting city, we are in the spotlight every year. That visibility is valuable for our city and fits perfectly with our identity as a cycling city."

Sports Alderman Piet Delrue is also enthusiastic: "Roeselare has proven in recent years that we are top-tier in organizing cycling races. We continue to invest in high-level sport, and Dwars door Vlaanderen is a fine example of that."

With this extension, both partners confirm their mutual trust and their commitment to the future of cycling. Roeselare remains a fixture in the spring classics calendar.
